About Me

I care about my students and how they learn. I adapt my teaching to suit the needs of individuals, allowing me to get the best out of all of my students. My aim is to imbed confidence with the right kind of support. Originally from Minnesota in the US, my career in education began during my final training placement in the lovely country of New Zealand. But my first teaching role was in a school in Luton, Bedfordshire. It was by far the most challenging job I’d ever had, but it provided me with endless opportunities. Upon reflection now, the decision to move to the UK was the best decision I’ve made in my professional life giving me great chances to grow and develop as a teacher and as a school leader. It was there that I fell in love with the science of learning and found the vocation of teaching. This passion has now taken me all over the world and introduced me to many notable people; both students and colleagues. I’m a family man at heart. I have a lovely wife (also a teacher) and an adorable daughter who is five years old. We spend a lot of time as a family exploring the south downs in East Sussex as well as finding as many ways as possible to have fun. In recent months, I left the mainstream classroom to spend time with my family and pursue a number of new challenges, including offering Positive Psychology Coaching, teacher training mentoring, and private tuition to students. In addition, I also serve as Chair of Trustees for an educational charity, the Pestalozzi International Foundation. I love Invicta's philosophy and am more than happy to be a part of the team and the movement. My ability to connect with my students is my greatest asset. My teaching style is one where I hone in on the strengths of the peo
