About Me

English was always my favourite subject in school. However, I never dreamed that one day I would be teaching it. Since 2015 I have taught English to a wide variety of students from all over the world. It doesn't matter to me where my students are from, or whether they’re adults or in their teens. The most important thing is that learning should be a fun and collaborative process. I like to think of myself and my students as a team, working toward a shared goal; their success. Feedback is extremely important for both student and teacher. We can see progress that is being made and identify areas that need more focus. Since lockdown began I’ve been using more technology in my lessons including a program that will allow me to share feedback outside of lesson time so you aren't kept waiting. The incorporation of interactive games, short films and enjoyable activities also makes learning what it should be, an adventure. After an initial conversation where we have identified and agreed on the area / areas that need focus, I will put together an individual learning plan with mutually agreed upon targets and goals. We will, of course, do activities together in class but self-directed study will also be beneficial. I will provide some fun and hopefully motivating activities that students can do in between classes. I encourage students to ask questions and to not be shy if they really don't understand something. As a teacher it’s important to work with the individual, even in a large class, as everyone has their own strengths and own ways and styles of learning. I enjoy taking a more holistic approach to the classroom and working with students in the way that best supports them to achieve their potential. If you have any questions please use my Q & A group and I will come back to you as soon as possible.
